Admiral Tigerclaw once went on a tangent with ponies and Ace Combat as well. In two of his blog post on FIMfiction he imagined one of the major dogfights of Ace Combat Zero as a way to portray the duel between Celestia and Nightmare Moon which lead to Luna/Nightmare Moon's banishment.

Whenever I see something fighter pilot related I always think of the music that played during the Banshee Showdown part of Halo 2. [link]
